The Essential Skills Refreshers for Industry Professionals are designed to provide industry professionals with a concise and targeted review of essential skills through specialised micro-credential short courses. This program focuses on core competencies across various fields, delivering up-to-date knowledge on industry standards, regulations, safety protocols, and best practices.

With a flexible, self-paced online course, participants can refresh their skills at their own pace, ensuring compliance with current industry requirements while enhancing professional expertise. The program emphasises practical, up-to-date content tailored to industry needs, helping professionals reinforce key knowledge and remain prepared for application in their chosen fields.
 

High-Pressure Water Safety Skills Refresher

This course reviews the safe operation and maintenance of high-pressure jetting equipment. It covers essential safety protocols, equipment handling, hazard identification, and proper use of personal protective gear. The course ensures operators are up to date on regulations and techniques for effective and safe jetter equipment use.

Legislation and Standards Compliance Refresher

This course for plumbers provides an in-depth review of current laws, regulations, and standards governing plumbing work. It covers compliance, safety codes, and best practices, ensuring professionals stay updated on legal obligations and industry standards for safe, lawful installations and maintenance.

Gas Work Safety and Skills Refresher - coming soon!

This course covers key safety protocols, handling, and storage of gases used in various industries. It reinforces knowledge on gas types, pressure management, leak detection, emergency procedures, and regulatory compliance. Designed for professionals, the course ensures updated skills and adherence to best practices for safe gas usage.

Course Delivery

These courses are delivered online and are self-paced. Students will be given one month to complete the course.

Course Outcomes

By ensuring strong industry recognition, robust assessment processes, and secure access to portable credentials, these programs will enable participants to build a verified, industry-endorsed record of their skills that is both transferable and valuable across various roles within the sector.

Course Recognition

On successful completion of this course, learners will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance.

Course Fees

There is no cost to participants, and the program is fully subsidised. This program is proudly funded and supported by the Queensland Government.

Eligibility

To be an eligible participant for this fully subsidised program:

1. Are aged 15 years of age or older
2. Permanently reside in Queensland
3. Are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or hold an eligible visa
4. Meet any additional; eligibility requirements identified through this Program

The following individuals are NOT eligible for this Program:

1. Secondary school students
2. Employees of MPAQ
3. Employees of government departments or government agencies not including local councils
4. Apprentices and Trainees
5. All others that don’t meet the eligibility requirements above
