MPAQ Board Nominations

Nominations are currently open for positions on the MPAQ Board.

• Board Member - To be eligible to be an MPAQ Board Member you must be a financial ordinary, meritorious, or life member of the Association and have a QBCC contractor licence.

• External Board Member - This opportunity is for individuals who do not qualify for a Board Member position but are active contributors to the plumbing, gas, and drainage industry.

External MPAQ Board - Nominations open

At the Annual General Meeting on Thursday 19 November 2026, the 2026 MPAQ Board will be finalised. Following the meeting, the Board may appoint up to two External Board Members. These individuals may not meet the standard membership criteria but can contribute valuable skills, experience and perspectives to support the Association’s future.

MPAQ has proudly represented Queensland’s plumbing and gas industry since 1900 and continues to serve as the peak industry body for the sector. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Queensland’s plumbing and gas industry. Applicants do not need to be plumbers. We welcome expressions of interest from people with a passion for good governance, small business, trades, training or strengthening our industry.

MPAQ Board  - Nominations open

Nominations open at midday on Friday 18 September 2026 and close at midday on Thursday 15 October 2026 for positions on the MPAQ Board.

The purpose of the MPAQ Board is to provide leadership, establish policies, set the strategic direction of MPAQ, and oversee the business and affairs of the Association. MPAQ is the peak industry body representing plumbing and gas contractors in Queensland. The Board is supported by the Chief Executive Officer and is accountable to members for the Association’s overall performance. The Board does not manage MPAQ’s day-to-day operations, which are delegated to the Chief Executive Officer.

In accordance with the Industrial Relations Act and Regulations, candidates wishing to nominate for positions of office on the MPAQ Board can download and print a nomination form or complete the online form below:

Candidate Statement

If a ballot is required to determine the outcome of the election, candidates must prepare a single-page A4 Candidate Statement outlining appropriate and relevant information about their candidature for office. Click here for an example candidate statement.

The ballot will be conducted from Tuesday 27 October to Wednesday 18 November 2026. Only people who were financial members 30 days before nominations opened are eligible to vote in the election.
